Air is the third of the four fundamental elements according to Western cosmogonies and the wisdom traditions of antiquity. She was commonly held to be a symbol of fantasy, imagination and spirituality. Air is associated with the cardinal point East, the masculine gender, the number 3 and the triangle (as a mediator between fire and water). The zodiac signs Aquarius, Libra and Gemini are also associated with the element of air.
